DIMANCHE D'EXPRESSION

Picture: weheartit.com

German entry:
Also, hier ist meine Herbstplaylist:

The Little Monsters Vol.1

So the other day, the siblings stayed up a bit too long and what happens when they stay up too long? Right, a hand full of shenanigans. This time Keen interviewed Joop in his lovely English. Since he doesn't know all that much of the English language he basically just repeated himself. I had a great laugh, I hope you too.

Mes Cheveux

"Hair style is the final tip-off whether or not a woman knows herself." - Hubert De Givenchy (Vogue, July 1985)

I used to be so thrilled about my short hair right after graduation but as for now, I really do miss my longer hair even though they are out of control the longer they get. I am starting to think of visiting the coiffeur soon. Not sure how I want them to be cut but I guess I'll let them grow a bit longer now. And yep, I was messing with my bro's laptop the other day. Don't complain brotherdear, I've done you a favour remember?

Triple*G Clubbing Night

Two weekends back ago, Triple*G organised their very first clubbing night. Not only dance offs were expected but also learnt choreographies were performed there for the first time. Their goal was to teach the students some moves they could show off during clubbings. Triple*G decided to hold these clubbing nights once a month now and I can tell you, they are really fun! Come and join the dancing fun! Big ups for the Triple*G crew for organising such event! See you at the next clubbing night.

The little Monster is at it again!

Last Summer during the CFC-KFL Congress in Poland, my little (monster) brother was forced by my humble self to strut his stuff and to do a cover by Bruno Mars' Grenade. I hope you enjoy it!

Herbst in Wien // Fall in Vienna

These are just a few snapshots I took the other week before heading to a lecture. This is the alley at the Uni Campus. It's quite a chilled out and nice place and not really very crowded. VTown's trees are getting more and more autumn-like which makes me quite excited since its Christmas soon.

DIMANCHE D'EXPRESSION

"The best thing about having a family, aside from a shoulder to cry on, comforts and laughs are the little insiders among each other that are noticed with just a single look!"

They are there when you most need it, even when you think you don't. They know you better than anyone else and you haven't even realised it. They might not always share the same opinion as you but at the end of the day they know better. They show you the way when you feel lost. They pull you back to the ground when your heads are in the clouds. And sometimes, even when you don't feel or see it, they wouldn't exchange you for anyone in the world, because they love you so much.

Happy, blessed sunday!

Get your tickets to MOVE!

Picture: www.facebook.com/move2011

HEAR, HEAR! Yet another great event is coming up and this time it's slightly different from the past events during this time of year. Right on time for Halloween, a group teamed up to make "M(oments) O(f) V(arious) E(xpressions) - Dance for Remedy" (for more info) happen which is another charity event for our hospital St. Anna and their cancer research programme. Different types of dancing crews will compete against each other and will be judged by none other than three members of Norway's The Vibe-Crew.
Your all time favourite acts will be there so let them know they've got your support!!

New Chapter: University Life

I have recently started going to university which is quite the start of a new chapter in my life.
The first week was pretty demanding in terms of organisational stuff and often left me confused but I guess that's just how it is at the beginning. I've taken up the course communication which basically gives me the preparatory education for areas such as journalism, public relations and marketing. I'm quite psyched about this course because for the people who know me well enough, know that I have always strived to go this direction. Even though this course has quite a reputation (of being unchallenged and 'easy') I never really cared. Even teachers have tried to talk me out of it but if you have a particular goal, I don't think anyone can talk you out of it. I am just hoping and praying that I will pass this semester albeit other courses on the side.
How's uni for you?

Triple*G HipHop Classes - Schnuppertag 08.10.2011

Last weekend, my dear brother and his dancing group hosted an open day course for dancing enthusiasts. It was a success and so much fun. Three cheographies were taught that day with different dance styles, which were: housing, shuffeling, new style, robo and hip hop. If you are interested, just visit the Triple*G site on Facebook and maybe we'll see each other in their courses.

They said, once you hit rock bottom there's no way but up. However, the first step always stays the hardest. Who would have thought that gathering all your thoughts and trying to put them in the right place would be the hardest to do? Nevertheless, time will come when even a forsaken place won't make you feel alone but will make you see the beauty in it.

My Swag-Princess-In-A-Tutu-With-A-Crown-Idol

I am absolutely obsessed with these two girls. Not in a weird way, of course but don't you think they are just the cutest? That Sophia Grace kid makes me laugh so hard - it's the British charm, you know ;D I just think she is the greatest. However, big ups for Nicki Minaj who actually really wanted the girls to put their books first and music second. That's not really something you hear a lot from celebrities these days. If you haven't heard of these cuties yet, just check out the videos down there. Amazing, that 8-year old girl can actually imitate an American accent, how cool is that?

One word: Brilliant!

She&Him

About three weeks ago, the new FOX Show New Girl launched its Pilot Episode and I can tell, everyone is very excited about it. I think the show is just hilarious and finally something you can laugh at/with instead of just being anxious and scared or in tears all the time. I have been very excited for this show ever since last Spring. I just knew that this show would be really good and for the most part I just love Zooey Deshanel as you can see in my Idol Of The Month-Serie. I might have posted some material on her music but I am not sure. If I haven't posted anything yet, here are some previews of her band's music. They are sure happy-go-lucky songs and I love listening to them whenever the weather is right. Enjoy!

Emancipated shenanigans

The weather in VTown has its weird ways lately, especially at the beginning of the week since it was quite cold and very rainy. Right at the end of my first lecture at Uni I met up with the Musketeers. We had running sushi and a little shopping spree with the EmancipationPartner before I had to head back to another lecture that day. It was great fun catching up and having a little goofy time in H&M. The best part of the day was still that Batman Gift Card Cover I got for free because we asked for it. Muchas gracias Cousinchen!

EXCLUSIVE: Keen's Geography Skills

So last night, around midnight, the two little monsters couldn't help but step into my privacy area called room - even at that time of day. The siblings ended up sleeping in my little room. Good times good times! Well, here's a video of the little one blabbing random stuff. He might be very very annoying but he still is my little boy. Enjoy! Oh, before I forget, I want to apologise to whoever feels offended by Keen's knowlegde :P He's still learning so bear with him! Oh, and that weird laughter in the background is me - it was too funny.

How 'Mean Girls' teaches you everything

I've just stumbled upon this super funny and great blog. It's from the website hellogiggles.com and I must say I enjoyed reading this post. It's one of these post where you just go 'man, I can really relate to this'. The people who know me, know that I absolutely adore the 'Mean Girls' movie and that I know most of the movie's lines off by heart. And of course, that I could watch this movie a million times and I would definitely force you to watch it too - regardless if you're a guy. So, I hope this post will make you giggle as much as I did because the things written in it is just very legit. Enjoy!

"Oh my God, I love your skirt! Where did you get it?"

'MEAN GIRLS’ TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING by Heather Taylor
Never Date a BFF’s Ex
It is seriously the rules of feminism at work here. Gloria Steinem might have said that a woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle, but what she really meant was that the man in question could not be your best friend’s ex. It’s called reading between the lines. You’re welcome.
You Really Can’t Make British Slang Happen in the Suburbs
It’s depressing, isn’t it? I liked “fetch” for what it was worth. So fetch. It could still happen and become a thing, right? I went through a period where I used to say “bloody hell” and was teased by my family members for doing so. To date, there is nothing I like better than a British accent. Something about a guy cocking his head toward me and saying “right then, jolly good” has me to the point where I just want to have all of his babies ever for him. Which would have to be born in the UK, thus giving me a valid reason to move and claim citizenship overseas. Always keep trying to make fetch happen, ladies of the world.

Flohmarkt Neubaugasse 2011

Last weekend, before I headed to my brother's dancing classes, I went to that flea market in Vienna's shopping district. Lots of people came to look at what the stores in that street as well as private persons had to offer. It was my first visit to such flea market and I can say it was a nice start in the day. Apart from lots and lots of clothes I was also curious about the jewellery and accessories offered. Due to lack of time I only managed to take a few (not so good) pictures. I hope you got an insight on what VTown has to offer.
Oh, and I loved, loved, loved the big tables of rings :)

FASHION: Hanna Beth

Hanna Beth is one of my personal style icons. I've been following her for about three years now and I can say that she is quite the trendsetter. She was the first person I saw with a sidecute, she was the first person I saw with that kind of edgy style. Moreover I just lover her tattoos and she's really got me started with the cupcake image. Beautiful, beautiful girl and very social responsible as well. Support her own brand and campagne Sobre is Sexy where she wants people to know that life can be so much better as well as very sexy without addictions such as drugs and alcohol.

German Music Week: Echt

"German music does not always have to be bad. Let me just introduce you to several artists that bring quality music with quality lyrics on the market. You might or might not know the songs but if you do, enjoy singing along to them as much as I do."

We have come to the last German act of the Week in the series of the German Music Week.
I hope you enjoyed it and I also hope that you could go back in time with this collection of music.
Any suggestions for another Music Week? Just hit me on FB or Twitter!

P.S. I want to say sorry for the not very qualitative music videos, beforehand. It was quite hard finding appropriate ones.

Echt was a German pop group that were active between 1997 to 2002. They were one of the few bands that caused a sensation among the teenage girls in the 90s. Unfortunately, the band broke up due to internal band problems as well as the fact that they couldn't cope with the fame. This band left the German speaking world songs that everyone can still listen to now.

German Music Week: Xavier Naidoo/Söhne Mannheims

"German music does not always have to be bad. Let me just introduce you to several artists that bring quality music with quality lyrics on the market. You might or might not know the songs but if you do, enjoy singing along to them as much as I do."

Xavier Naidoo is a singer, song-writer and producer from Germany. He has been active in the music industry since 1993 and has been very successful with both his english and german songs.
Söhne Mannheims was founded by Naidoo and its other 14 band members. Their genre can be descrived as pop, soul as well as hip hop. Their lyrics are mostly about the political situation in the world. The band is also well known for their ballads.

"Ich kenne nichts (das so schön ist wie du)"
