DIMANCHE D'EXPRESSION

As for me, reality always has a way of knocking hard on my door. You are intoxicated by the happiness you feel at the moment but at the same time wait for something that kills the moment because it just seems too good to be true. How right that is because life can't always be happy-go-lucky. Bless the people who do have a happy-go-lucky life though. At the moment, I feel as if I'm put on a trust test. On one hand trusting people who are close to my heart and on the other hand trusting the one and only up there. I have always had to learn things the hard way and I used to accept that aspect in my life but nowadays I find it harder than I used to. That is where the trust plays a role because if I have enough trust in His plan then I wouldn't have to hold a grudge against everyone that try to interfere in my plans and I'm in no position to make selfish decisions or be selfish at all. What ever happens lies in His hands and that's that.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
—Proverbs 3:56

Fluorescent Adolescent

This post is for my fellow mates who are having a difficult time at the moment. Who would have thought that you still haven't got your life all figured out as expected? For my part, I never thought that after graduation life would get harder. I though life would be a tad bit more exciting with no worries and such. How naive I have been! I learned though and I am still learning. I am glad, that I've bumped into this article because it does make you realise that the phase you are in is a natural way of life. In each and every paragraph I kinda nodded my head and related to it. It's a great article and I bet you can relate to it as well!

“The Quarter-Life Crisis”
Author Unknown

It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are a lot of things about yourself that you didn’t know and may or may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now.
You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren’t exactly the greatest people you have ever met and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you do not realize is that they are realizing that too and are not really cold or catty or mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.
You look at your job. It is not even close to what you thought you would be doing or maybe you are looking for one and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and are scared.
You miss the comforts of college, of groups, of socializing with the same people on a constant basis. But then you realize that maybe they weren’t so great after all.
You are beginning to understand yourself and what you want and do not want. Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging a bit more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and add things to your list of what is acceptable and what is not. You are insecure and then secure. You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.
You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you or you lay in bed and wonder why you can’t meet anyone decent enough to get to know better. You love someone but maybe love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you are not a bad person.
One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap and getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic. You go through the same emotions and questions over and over and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision.
You worry about loans and money and the future and making a life for yourself and while wining the race would be great, right now you’d just like to be a contender!
What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.

DIMANCHE D'EXPRESSION

After an inspiring and fun weekend, YFL can welcome 13 new babies! Their backgrounds and reasons to join the community were very inspirational. I am proud of each and everyone of them. The camp was great but with great things challenges also come up and we were successful in getting over them.

GOD IS GOOD!

busy busy november should bring december faster

Picture: via Facebook © kreitner & partner

November is pretty much a busy month for me hence the delayed blogging. Now that I have been through the first exam in Uni I still have lots to prepare for the upcoming YFL-Camp, which I am quite excited for. It's going to be a new or a renewed experience for everyone and I just can't wait to grow in His love even more. I have been browsing through a couple of blogs over the past months and they just seem to have a certain USP to them. So therefore, I am in search for my own USP and I guess it's nothing that comes easy or even fast. I just told myself to keep this blog going and maybe sooner or later it will develop in something on its own. The Christmas market officially opened last Saturday and I'm looking forward to pay it a visit with my faves. There are a few highlights in November but I guess December will be even more eventful with Christmas, New Years and other things ;)

Just a random update for you guys!

DIMANCHE D'EXPRESSION

I'm starting to make this delay of weekly posts turn into a habit, which of course is not really the best thing to do. However, yesterday I was just really really tired and by that I mean that my mind started to think for itself which was not very pleasant. ANYWAYS, I can't wait for next weekend, to be with the youths, to teach them things that might be a big part of their lives and just to be helpful to others.

MOVE 31.10.2011 - A short recap

If you weren't there, you surely have missed out on it. The MOVE-Event was another highlight of this year. The sold-out event began with a grand opening by a dance collaboration of the YFLs and YFCs (both a charismatic catholic youth group).  The performance was a perfect intro and taste to what the audience had to expect that night. The two hosts Bryan Calvo (organiser) and Dorothea Wohak officially opened the event followed by the introduction of the judges Eli Laureta, Jan Erik Santos and David Leung.
The competition was set up as follows: Each dance group contestant was introduced through their own short film followed by their actual dance performance. After every contestant had their turn, the judges gave their votes and decided on the three final groups.
The three lucky winners of the first round were T'Bubbles, SWAG and PNoise, who then had to battle to the same song directly after another in rotation. If you thought their first round performance was good, the second round proved how much further they could go to reach for their dreams.
The crowd literally went mad during their performances. After the judges gave their last vote with the help of the audience themselves, the winner was decided. CONGRATULATIONS, again PNoise for taking over the first place!! It was a very tough decision since all three were just mindblowing.
