LENT

Yeah, we're in this season again - lent. To be honest, I was quite caught off guard when I found out that lent season started tomorrow already. I haven't prepared at all and I can't really say what I would want to fast. However, I decided to read this great book 'The Purpose Driven Life' during this season. I heard a lot about it and I thought it was high time for me to have a read of it as well. I am kinda looking forward to it but at the same time, I'm also very nervous. You might wonder why I would be nervous! Well, I've gotten to a point in my life where I just need to find a lot of answers to my questions. Sometimes you got everything figured out, but then it hits you out of the blue and you're not quite sure about your life anymore.
Lent, therefore, is a very important season for me to reflect on things and not to lose my way and especially him! I hope you guys have figured out what to fast for 40 days! Wish you all the best!

Sunday, happy Sunday

It's the 3rd Sunday in the lent season and well, we have come halfway already! Be proud of yourself! This lent is something really special to me, I realised. It's the first proper fasting I'm doing and I can say that I do feel good. It's just a mind matter to stick to the deal and even though it is quite hard, not reaching for the rice or going on FB and other things, I am already proud of myself that I really do pull through =) More importantly why this season is important to me, is that I learn a lot. I learn a lot to trust God and myself more. Without trusting and believing in Him, there's no chance that I can trust myself and believe in myself. That's what I've learnt. Not only the girls but also I have realised that the fasting has bonded us more stronger now. Of course, the issues we're facing at the moment have resemblance but then again, I am happy that we go through the same things. There's more understanding, there's more compassion and more togetherness. Although we are at different levels in life, it is still really nice to know that at some point in life, you and your best friends find yourselves at the same spot. They have my back and I know that I have theirs, whatever might happen and that's what I'm so grateful for. Now it's TGs minus one for a while. I already miss the missing lady but I look forward to seeing her again in three weeks.

Just before I end this blog, I would just like to share about what helped me through the hard times the past few weeks. I learnt it the hard way, with lots of tears, lots of self-doubt and of course the feeling of being a loser. I do not let myself think that anymore because I am a winner. I won because I didn't give up and always tried my best. I won because I don't doubt on Him. Finally, I won because I appreciate all the blessings he has given me.
So I've been listening to a lot of Hillsong music and I can tell you, they helped a bunches. It helped me through times of fear and panic. They make me feel strong and I am glad that there's the possibility to always get to listen to them. Here are a few of my favourites:

Lent: 40 days of Fasting

Today at Ashwednesday it is lent again. I have decided to fast Facebook for 40 days which is more or less the challenge I have to face. I am actually looking forward to fasting since I really want to find out if I can pull through. I am thinking that it won't be that hard since the next couple of weeks will keep me occupied with school, so let us see, and I am also positive about the fact that the 40 days will fly by. When I looked at my calendar earlier and counted down the 40 days I realised that it is on the Friday of the 15th in April which is the date where my secondary education slowly comes to an end. All grades have to be ready and set on that day which basically means that I would no longer be a student anymore. But I also think that after the lent I will grow so much stronger as a person and that I will become more confident about what my inner strength is capable of.

Not to forget, during lent, you also dedicate yourself to the Lord, that is why I will try my very very best to pray more and harder. I pretty much lift everything up to Him and I trust that He will give me the best I deserve.
