LENT '13

Lent came in pretty early this year and in that sense also very quickly. Lent for me has a much deeper meaning this year. Of course, I used to fast certain things but I never really understood the reason to fast sweets and candies or my usual TV Shows and stuff. However, this year, I decided to fast something that is very very dear to my heart. We know lent as a season to abstain from things that keep us further away from God but also further away from ourselves. A lot of people around me have realised that this lenten season can be used to go deeper in ourselves and try to know oneself much better. Of course, in order to carry this out properly the help of God is required. Nevertheless, for my part I have combined these things with thanksgiving. These past weeks I felt so blessed and I just thought that through sacrificing something that I love, just shows that I truly want to thank God for each and every blessing. Also, I use this season not only to go deeper in knowing myself but also try not to be dependent on perishable and fleeting things. Because what I have learnt is that when you fully rely on God, amazing things can happen. Now I have decided to deepen my relationship with Him and learn to fully trust Him with His plans for me because when there are times that I do not feel secure, safe or happy, I know that these things are just temporary things because I believe that He has a greater plan for me. Hence, with that growth in the relationship with me and Him, I know that every other relationship in my life can grow as well. Now I believe that keeping Him in the center of everything, will bring greater things. And since it is the year of faith, anything can happen.

EYC PLANNING '13

The start in February was one good one! We had the EYC Planning here in Vienna and besides feeling honoured being part of the Service Team, I am also very excited for the Congress itself. From what I can tell, it is going to be quite different yet familiar this year and I cannot wait for you guys to be part of it. During the Planning I also got to spend some time with ze Bubi which was a lot of fun. Especially when no-one understood our sense of humour - oh well, weird couple. Even though the Planning was stressful enough, I had to pull all-nighters during that weekend to be able to finish my semester paper. It all paid off since I've got a good grade on it. The weekend was very intense and very productive, but with all the hard work we also shared a lot of laughs. I am glad to be part of a team that is determined to make this event a great one. Each person inspired me in so many ways which makes me so proud to know them. We the foundation, we a family :)

HI FEBRUARY, BYE BYE JANUARY :)

Hello my dear Readers! I am back! I was shut out from my social life for a month due to exams but now I am back, aca-bitches (too much pitch perfect in my jargon now!). It has been a crazy month and I passed all my exams which I am super stoked about. You can see how glad I am being off the studyranger mode now! January was some very busy month and I just cannot wait for February and the busyness to continue in His glory!

Yes, I should be studying but this post will be kept short! Since I haven't really posted a recap-of-2012 post, due to lack of time during the holidays, I just want to share what I have planned for this year. A dear friend of mine showed me this and I just think - since 365 days are quite long and lots of stuff can happen which you might just forget - it's a good idea to keep them noted, literally said. So, I decided to make this 2013 jar where all of the good things that happen to me this year will be jarred up in there, ready to be read at New Year's Eve. How about you join the fun?

ICON OF THE MONTH JANUARY: TAYLOR SWIFT

Fresh start in the new year, with a fresh new episode of a newly named 'Icon of the Month' for the year 2013, which is basically only the continuation of my 'Idol of the Month' series. The reason of the renaming is, that Idol doesn't quite suit the meaning I am aiming at. This series of course has a lot to do about Role Models and about my admiration for them out of various reasons.

I am fully aware about the headlines she has been making about the amount of guys she dated in a spantime of 3 years, however, I do not admire her in that sense but more about her music. Everyone knows what a musical genius Taylor Swift is. The reason why I admire her so much is, because she has a very good way with words. She can put the most complex situations with words as simple as A, B, C and I admire her for that. Furthermore, her ability to reach to a tons of girls (me included) with her lyrics is pure talent. So, check out her latest album 'Red' that I cannot get enough of. Here you can find some of my personal favourites.
