YFL Vienna Video Competition 2011

So, for this year's Congress we took part in the video competition. The video had to be somewhat a trailer based on the theme FOREVER STRONG (Isaiah 49:5). For the first time ever, I was responsible for the whole process of making the video. It was a challenge but with all the help from the video-comp. team and everyone else, I always had the drive to keep on going though at times I felt giving up. The challenge was that I had never done this before and it had to be for a competition, the person who had more experience in all this was out of town and finally, the timespan was too short. Apart from all that, my creativiy was on level zero most of the time and the ideas just didn't keep on coming. The video competition team and I had enough ideas though. However, it was hard carrying them out in an interesting and catchy way. The video shoots were fun and also spontaneous in a way, only the editing was pretty tiring. Comparing the video material we had with the result, you can see that we cut out a lot. I want to apologise to the people who I left out in the video. You still helped and made a great job! This whole experience taught me not to give up even though your mind kills you with lots and lots of doubt. It made me realise that if you do your best, good things will still happen. Out of all videos that have been shown during the Congress, ours was the shortest but probably have made a big impact since we took the 2nd place for it. I was very surprised and very happy when they announced it. God is really good. Just by thinking that it was extremely nervewracking for me to be in the audience watching it on full-screen and literally being able to see everyone's reactions. It was a good start in something that might develop.

Plot: Four different teenagers have to deal with problems such as peer pressure, failure in sports, cybermobbing as well as hardships in fitting in in their lives. The only way they see improvements and staying strong in their lives  is when they turn to God.

Für den diesjährigen YFL-Kongress in Spanien, hat sich Wien entschieden bei dem Videowettbewerb mitzumachen. Aus irgendeinem Grund war ich dafür zuständig, wenn man bedenkt, dass ich eigentlich nur ein kleiner Teil des ganzen sein wollte. Es war ein ewiges Auf und Ab, da die Inspiration und die Kreativität manchmal einfach nicht aus mir herauskommen wollte. Gott sei Dank hatte ich ein super tolles Team hinter mir, die mit ihren Ideen und ihrer Motivation das ganze am Laufen gehalten hat. Das Video hätte ruhig länger dauern können, aber durch den Zeitdruck, der dann am Ende kam, blieb der Bearbeitungsgruppe nicht viel übrig, als das Video kurz und so ausdrucksstark wie möglich zu halten. Es war eine große Herausforderung für mich, da sehr viel dafür und sehr viel drumherum gearbeitet werden musste. Ich bin dennoch dankbar, dass ich diese Chance bekommen habe, denn ohne diese Erfahrung würde ich nicht wissen, wozu ich eigenlich in der Lage bin. Weiters habe ich bemerkt, wenn man sein Bestes gibt, dass trotzdem etwas Großer herausspringt. In diesem Fall haben wir mit dem Video den 2ten Platz belegt, was für mich total überraschend kam. Als das Video gleich am ersten Abend gezeigt wurde, war ich nämlich extremst nervös, da ich live miterleben konnte, wie das Publikum reagiert. Ein 2. Platz für etwas, in dem ich eigentlich und ehrlich gesagt, wenig Hoffnung hatte, klopfe ich mir gerne die Schulter sowie jedem anderen auch, der etwas zu dem Video beigetragen hat.

Inhalt: Im Grunde genommen, geht es um vier Teenager, die mit verschiedenen Problemen sowie Gruppenzwang, Versagen beim Sport, Cybermobbing und Ausgeschlossenheit zu kämpfen haben. Um ihr Leben mit Hoffnung und Glück weiterleben zu können, ist ihre einzige Stärke Gott alleine.
